On our way home from Crested Butte we stopped at http://www.bishopcastle.org.

This place is fascinating, intriguing, kinda scary and a unique roadside stop. It’s free, but the builder/owner accepts donations. He was there when we went and from what I understand, if you talk to him he will share a lot of his story and viewpoints on life, politics, and such. There is a sign at the bottom that gives a summary of his story. It was a fun and interesting stop and really glad we took the time to go see it. My kids loved it and they climbed all the way to the top. It was windy and a little scary up there. Read up on it before you go and decide for yourself if you think it is worth it to check it out! https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g33628-d316320-Reviews-Bishop_Castle-Rye_Colorado.html

It’s kind of like a maze with several stairwells and lookouts. We ended up separated and didn’t see each other for awhile because there are so many little hideaways. I wouldn’t recommend letting little ones out on there own here.
