I spent a year planning our trip to Colorado. It was all based a hike from Aspen to Crested Butte. This winter wrecked havoc on the trail and the hike still had miles of snow and avalanche debris covering the trail. Basically, I watched all the Facebook group pages for up to date reports and messaged the shuttle company that was suppose to pick us up on the CB side relentlessly. In the end, there were a lot of mixed reviews on the conditions. People from Colorado and some hardcore hikers said it was fine. Others said it was pretty difficult. In the end, we decided we weren't interested in hiking miles in snow and hunting around for the trail. When planning all of this, we chose Glenwood Springs for the first part of our trip because A) They had a Residence Inn (Marriott Points) and B) They have an awesome adventure park!

The only way up to the Park is on this amazing brand new (as of 2019) gondola. The views are gorgeous. Even my sister who is terrified of heights liked it, after she finally opened her eyes.

Views from Gondola.

Obligatory no weed smoking sign. I am from Texas. This still makes me giggle.

The park is immaculate. Everything is clean and the employees are very friendly.

The views from all over the park are beautiful.

Glenwood Canyon Flyer - Swing through the sky and enjoy the scenery.

The Giant Canyon Swing - I got bullied by my kids into riding this 3 times. That's right. 3 times. It is terrifying and absolutely the most exhilarating ride at the park. I have a video of me riding this and I am screaming bloody murder and laughing all at the same time.

Kings Row Cave - This is the only cave we did and we were told it was the best of the three. It is across from Haunted Mine Drop. (No pictures of the mine drop but it was fun!) The cave tour is where we learned the story of the people who started the park. Very interesting and unusual love story!

Alpine Coaster - Our group rode this ride the most times. The lines are not too long and it is really fun! You control your speed so if you want the scenic tour down the mountain you can choose to keep your brakes on, but our group wanted to go as fast as possible!

We spent the morning riding everything then left for lunch and Hanging Lakes Hike (this hike has it's own post and I highly recommend doing the hike!). Then we came back in the afternoon to ride some more rides and rode the gondola down at sunset. Perfect evening.

Pros: Clean, organized, not too crowded, free sunscreen at the visitor center, rides and caves, beautiful views. I think the price is fair for what you get. It is not a huge park, but some of the rides elsewhere can run you $60 for just a swing type ride.

We did the Summer FunDay Pass – Gondola, Cave Tours & Attractions Adult $58.00 Child (3-12) $53.00

With a 10% off coupon it was definitely worth it.
