If you want a good price with great people and don’t care about all the frills I know the perfect place. Cowboys aren’t fancy.

I was looking for an inexpensive horseback riding facility. There are a ton out there and I took a chance on D & G Outfitting because there weren't alot of reviews online. The drive is beautiful, winding through the mountains. The location is Remote with no cell service, and not really a large scale horseback riding venue. We had to go to the restroom which was in a little shack next door that was kind of like roughing it. Not of that matters if what you care about is horseback riding. The owners Dale and Gail were fantastic. Gail lead us on our ride and she was wonderful.

When we got there and my niece realized that riding in the mountains was not like riding around on flat ground she got nervous and decided not to go. Dale took her around on her horse and let her ride around the pasture while we went up the mountain. He was great with her and made her feel very comfortable. This was my first time trail riding so I wasn't sure what to expect.

It was fun and beautiful going up the trails and through the woods. We even saw a large deer resting in the shade of the trees. Gail is pointing to the deer and telling us to be very quiet.

Can you see him??

We rode through beautiful flower covered pastures with the mountains in the background all around us.

Gail lead the way and her helper was a young girl from Scotland who was on her “gap year” after graduating high school. She was working at the ranch for the summer then going to California next. One thing I didn’t realize was how sore I would be the next day!
