On our first day in Crested Butte, we drove about 25 minutes to Almont, Co to go white water rafting. https://www.3riversresort.com/ TIP: Always, always, always look for coupons. Google, read reviews, ask the location you are buying tickets from if they have any. Booking online is usually cheaper. I found a coupon for $5 per person from https://www.colorado.com/. It’s not there as of this writing but check their website for updates! My husband, myself and my kids did the class III+, Upper Taylor. The Taylor river has a controlled release of water from a reservoir so it is pretty steady not too crazy. We had a fantastic guide. She was a young college student and she lead with great precision.
If you spend a little extra you can get pictures of the actual rafting. I’m too cheap so i just screenshot a few. Not quite the same lol.

My sister, mom and niece did the class II, Lower Taylor, which was pretty tame and more of a gentle float down the river. They had fun, but said they would have liked it to be a little more exciting. Maybe next time they would do the class III. They over an extender raft to the Upper Taylor. I personally thought the one we did that didn’t have the extender was the perfect length of time. They have a restaurant there that we didn’t go to because we wanted to save money and eat at the condo. Looks like they have good reviews and moderate prices. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g29132-d1473633-Reviews-Three_Rivers_Smokehouse-Almont_Colorado.html
